Alta uro actively collaborates with researchers from the Department of Biomedical engineering at the University of Basel . Topics include the development of new techniques for faster diagnosis of urinary tract infections, studies on urogenital tuberculosis, bacteriophage therapy and antimicrobial coating of the surface of implants. Prof. Gernot Bonkat, MD, coordinates these projects in his role as Senior Medical Adviser together with Dr. Braissant and his team. alta uro offers students the opportunity to gain insight into these fascinating topics, to learn about state-of-the-art techniques, and to complete master's and doctoral theses.

The alta uro team, in collaboration with Dr. Braissant and the Department of Biomedical engineering, has already published many scientific articles in renowned scientific journals. A total of 23 articles have been published in the last few years.
